Precision Body Works of WNC LLC has been family owned and operated since 1987. The business was founded by Dan James, who has been in the industry for over 50 years. His avid love for motorcross led him into this industry at a young age. His first steps started at age 14 by attending night classes in the Auto Body program through Haywood Community College before the program moved to the new and current location. Throughout high school and college he worked at Waynesville Sportsmart (now WNC Cycle Center) as a technician. He graduated with his degree in Auto Body Repair from HCC in 1976. Dan started working for a local body shop here in Haywood County called Carver's. Here he refined his skills in major repair and refinish. Antique cars and restorations became one of his favorite passions. Dan constructed a shop in the driveway of the home he and his wife, Vicki, had recently built so that he could work on personal projects in his down time. In 1987, his dreams became reality when the opportunity to open his own shop was presented to him. Dan and Vicki made the daring decision to start their own business. This provided him the opportunity to share his talent and skills with the entire community. For over 37 years he has been able to help his customers not only with custom paint jobs, also with restorations, everyday repairs, and collision repairs. He has spent the last 40 plus years building friendships and helping his community.
